Show #31 with Guest David Giard

In this episode, Dane and Andrew talk with David Giard from Detroit, Michigan, about the upcoming 10th anniversary meeting of the Great Lakes Area .NET Users Group (GANG), its founding, and some of the efforts he and the rest of the GANG leadership have made to successfully grow the group over the last 2 years. GANG has more than doubled their attendance and had great success in getting attendees more involved, so if you run a user group (or are thinking about starting one), this is a show you won’t want to miss. We also talk with David about recent guests on his Technology and Friends video podcast series, and his recent conference and user group talks on topics including Data Visualization and jQuery. David Giard is a Microsoft MVP and the INETA Mentor for 4 states. He has been developing software solutions with Microsoft technologies since 1993. Over the years, David has presented at dozens of technical conferences and user groups. He is a recovering certification addict and holds an MCTS, MCSD, MCSE, and MCDBA, as well as a BS and an MBA. He is the host and producer of the mildly popular online TV show Technology and Friends. David is president of the Great Lakes Area .Net User Group. He is an avid photographer and has visually documented many of the Heartland community events. You can read his latest thoughts at www.DavidGiard.com. David lives in Michigan with his two teenage sons.
